We've selected 5 exhibitions to visit this month whilst you are in London:
Zabludowicz Collection, Chalk Farm, NW5 3PT
29 September–18 December
Being early followers of this American artist, we absolutely recommend you to view her recent exhibition in Chalk Farm. But be prepared: you will see a lot of skin, nylon stockings and paint.
November 26th at 4-5pm - Specialist Tour: Reba Maybury
Malick Sidibé
Somerset House, Temple, WC2R 1LA
06 Oct 2016–15 Jan 2017
Somerset House presents Sidibé black and white photographs, accompanied by the exhibition soundtrack. Considered as one of the most successful African Artists in the mid-20th century, Malick Sidibe exhibition is worth visiting if you are fond of photography.
Maria Nepomuceno: Sim
Victoria Miro Mayfair, W1S 1FE
11 November 2016 - 7 January 2017
Following Cosmic Teta, (recent large-scale commission for the Barbican Centre), Maria Nopuceno exhibits her vibrant and dynamic work in Mayfair soon. These new works expand upon the Rio de Janeiro-based artist’s methods of rope weaving and straw braiding, we believe it's quite a must see.
Sherman Sam: TOGETHER WE’RE HEAVY
Annka Kultys Gallery, E2 9EQ, Cambridge Heath
17 November - 17 December 2016
His drawings oftenly have reference to nature and reverie, yet also contain an answering sense of longing and determination. The first, major exhibition with his new gallery, Sherman recently completed drawings and paintings, which are known for providing a complex, powerful, and inexplicable experience for the viewer.
Magnus Plessen: The Skin of Volume
White Cube Bermondsey, The Borough, SE1 3TQ
4 November 2016 – 14 January 2017
Made in the past two years, this exhibition was inspired by the German pacifist Ernst Friederich and his anti-war book War against War (1924). With those collage-style paintings, it's definitely an interesting exhibition.
