Monet & Architecture

“I want to paint the air that surrounds the bridge, the house, the boat...”

The current National Gallery exhibition, “Monet & Architecture,” is an original way of looking at the career of one of the greatest artists in history. Monet created many artworks that depicted buildings in various cities and villages. Featuring 75 artworks, the exhibition features both famous and little known masterpieces that show different architectural types in Normandy, Paris, Venice and London – all of which were important places of Monet’s life.

The exhibition runs until July 29, at the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London WC2N 5DN

Signe Pierce:

Metamirrorism

New York-based artist Signe Pierce is famous for her projector paintings where she uses surroundings, the camera and her body to create a work of art. The artist’s installation, “Metamirrorism,” at the Annka Kultys Gallery emphasizes Pierce’s point of view that “reality is a medium,” presenting the gallery’s space as a virtual abstraction. Moreover, each visitor becomes a central point in the installation – the necessary condition for Metamirrorism.

In Conversation: Eric Mack and Tim Marlow

The Simon Lee Gallery invites the public to enjoy an art discussion between Tim Marlow, artistic director of the Royal Academy of Arts and Columbian-born Eric N. Mack whose works are now exhibited in the gallery. They bring to light the “Misa Hylton-Brim” exhibition, which features large-scale works (painting, sculpture and performance) – an artistic dialogue between fashion and art.

This event takes place on Thursday April 12, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Simon Lee Gallery, 12 Berkeley St, Mayfair, London W1J 8DT

If Oxford is your choice to visit over the weekend, don’t miss a colourful exhibition of the greatest American modernist works. The show brings together early works by Georgia O’Keeffe, Arthur Dove and Paul Strand, as well as sophisticated paintings by Charles Sheeler and Charles Demuth that were loaned from leading American museums. Enjoy these beautiful and carefully chosen works, which have never before been exhibited in the UK.

Imagined Characters

Sid Motion Gallery is hosting“Imagined Characters,” which analyses the age of the selfie. The show brings together recent works by the following UK-based artists: Charis Entwisle, Pat O’Connor, Jennifer Louise Martin and Daniel Wheeler. Each has a unique perception of the ideals of beauty, and finds inspiration in the glamorous world of celebrity portraits and fashion photography.
